Being
situated in the heart of the Somerset Levels, close to the River Parrett, we are ideally
positioned as a camping base for those wanting to take advantage of the
excellent fishing opportunities in the area.
Stoke-sub-Hamdon & District Angling Association, just a couple of miles from our caravan site
is a mainly coarse fishery that controls waters on the upper river Parrett here
in South Somerset. There is also some
wild brown trout fishing on the upper sections owned by the club. The river
ranges from fast flowing streamy sections to slower flowing deeper sections. There are lots of features Included such as sidestreams, deep undercut corners, weirpools, millpools and plenty of
overhanging trees.
We understand that
the club is now offering day tickets so non-members and visitors to the area
can take advantage of the excellent fishing available there. With several species available in the river,
including Bream, Roach, Carp, trout and eels you are sure of a great day’s
fishing. There is also the potential to
spot lots of wildlife around the fishery with badgers, otters, deer,
kingfishers and foxes all regularly seen in the area.
If you need to stock
up on essentials for your fishing trip, Tackleuk, the largest online
fishing shop in the UK, has a retail
outlet in Yeovil, which is also close by.

It has been a great start to the summer season
on site and now, with the school holidays fast approaching, we are looking
forward to lots more sunny weather. We have
already been involved in some great events like the Triumph South West Meet and
the fabulous Retro Fundraiser earlier in the month, which was a huge success
with loads of amazing vehicles on site. We
are looking forward to the rest of what is looking like a great summer!
Our family run campsite is ideally placed to
enjoy the best of what Somerset has to offer.
We have great transport links being close to the M5 and A303 making the
coast at North Somerset and Dorset both easily reached within a short
drive. On-site we have a range of level grass
and hard-standing pitches suitable for tents, caravans and motorhomes as well
as our fabulous timber built glamping pod, complete with a proper double bed, for
those who prefer a bit more of a luxury camping experience. Our on-site shop has a range of parts and
