As high summer approaches, the list of local events gets ever longer.    Below are some of our favourite events nearby, coming up in the next few weeks. Our friendly campsite offers a range of accommodation options from grass and hard-standing pitches to our fabulous glamping cabin and static caravan holiday homes.  Situated in the heart of South Somerset we are surrounded by beautiful countryside – the perfect place to relax and unwind.  So far this summer we have been lucky to have had some amazing weather.  Fingers crossed this continues to over the school holidays! 

One of the biggest events of the summer here is the annual Royal Naval Air Station (RNAS) Yeovilton International Air Day which takes place on Saturday 7 July 2018.  Up to 40,000 visitors are expected to attend and can look forward to a spectacular show with a 5 hour flying display and plenty of ground attractions including fairground rides, simulators and helicopter pleasure rides.  For more information, admission prices and tickets visit The Yeovilton Airday Website

Cokerfest is back for 2018 on 7th July – a one-day music festival (midday to midnight) which promises to be bigger and better than before with two stages showcasing local bands, bigger bars and more food options – this not for profit event raised over £7000 for local charity St Margaret’s Hospice in 2017 – for more information and tickets visit www.cokerfest.co.uk 

Another nearby family music event is the Party by the Parrett – being held on 30thJune this year at Kingsbury Episcopi.  With local bands as well as a great selection of street food, kids games and a fully licenced bar.  This event is promises to showcase local talent and provide a great, fun atmosphere whilst raising funds for the Kingsbury Episcopi Community Centre. For more information and tickets visit www.partybytheparrett.co.uk 

The annual Yeovil Show is a traditional agricultural show offering amazing family entertainment over the weekend of 14thand 15thJuly.  Dogs are welcome and kids under 15 go free.  With so much to see and do over the weekend – including beautiful animals, gorgeous local food and drink, plenty of shopping, heart stopping displays, music and much more. For advance tickets and more information visit The Yeovil Show Website

The Somerton Arts Festival runs from the 6th to15th July and boasts a whole timetable of events over the course of the week including music, art, craft, storytelling, workshops and more.  A timetable of the planned events and locations can be found at www.somertonartsfestival.co.uk
