Kilve Beach

Situated halfway between Minehead and Bridgwater, Kilve Beach is at the heart of the Quantocks. The rocky shoreline is ideal for exploring rockpools at low tide and the large grassy area behind the beach makes it an incredible site for a picnic.  With cliffs formed from oil-rich shale and layers of yellow, brown & blue lias (where many fossils have been found!) there is a huge amount of geological interest at Kilve. Classed as a Site of Special Interest (SSSI), removing fossils from the cliffs or bedrock is prohibited.

It is a fascinating site and well worth the longer drive from Southfork Caravan Park, ensure you check the tide times before you go to conincide with low tide to ensure you see all that Kilve beach has to offer.

Tide times for Kilve can be found here.

Dogs are welcome all year round.
