10% off pitch fees for National Trust Members
There are a number of wonderful National Trust Buildings which can be easily visited from Southfork Caravan Park.  We are happy to offer 10% off our pitch fees for National Trust Members so why not pay them a visit when you pay us a visit!

The National Trust website has a page showing the various properties in the area.  All of which are within easy travelling distance of the campsite.

If gardens are your thing, a visit to Tintinhull Garden is a gardener’s paradise, featuring secluded lawns, pools and imaginative borders.  There is a lovely kitchen garden as well as an arboretum to visit where you can walk or picnic.  The gardens are open from March through to September.

Nearby Montacute House is a wonderful Elizabethan Renaissance masterpiece.  A visit to the house and gardens is a must when you are in the area.  For art lovers, The Long Gallery at the property houses over 60 Tudor and Elizabethan portraits on loan from the National Portrait Gallery.

There are extensive gardens and grounds to explore as well as the house itself, described as ‘the most beautiful Elizabethan house in England’ The National Trust puts on a range of events throughout the year so it is always worth checking the website to see what is coming up.

Another Tudor building nearby is Barrington Court.  Restored from a state of disrepair by Colonel Lyle of the ubiquitous sugar company, Tate and Lyle in the 1920’s it now stands empty but you can still visit the wonderfully restored interior rooms and the beautiful gardens which have a working kitchen garden which supplies fresh fruit and vegetable to the restaurant.  Look out for fun February Half Terms activities at the hall between the 16th and 24th February.

For a great way to blow the cobwebs away, consider a walk up to the Wellington Monument.  The monument is the tallest three-sided 'obelisk' in the world and there are some great walks around there which give wonderful over the Blackdown Hills and Quantocks.

With the first flowers starting to make an appearance, we are starting to think about the new season to come.  If you are planning a break over February Half Term, get in touch to find out about availability for our static homes, glamping pod and camping pitches – you could book your caravan or motorhome in for a service at the same time.
